On Sunday, Oct 19, PCC will host its annual Meliora Weekend reception from 11:00 a.m. – noon in the Conference Room (middle level) of the Interfaith Chapel. A light brunch will be served, and guests will have the opportunity to chat with Chaplain Laurie Tiberi and current members of PCC. We hope you’ll join us!

PCC Hosts Middle East Peace Advocate

The Protestant Chapel Community invites the community to hear the Rev. Dr. Shehadeh Shehadeh, an Episcopal priest and Arab Palestinian. Dr. Shehadeh is a longtime peace advocate who lives in Israel. He has focused much of his career on working for peace among Jews, Christians, and Muslims in Israel and throughout the Middle East. He founded the organization “Clergy for Peace” in 1988 and also heads the Department for Reconciliation and Peace of his diocese. He received his B.D. in Indida, his M.Div. in England, and his D.Min at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago.

Dr. Shehadeh will be speaking on Tuesday, September 30, at 7:00 p.m. in Friel Lounge.

UR Associate Professor of Political Science Randall Stone will be PCC’s guest for our Wednesday, Sept 17 “Dinner Dialogues” (6:00 – 7:30, Interfaith Chapel Commons Room). Professor Stone is a United Church of Christ layperson and the past President of PCC’s sponsoring organization, Genesee Area Campus Ministries.

PCC Fall Retreat, Oct 3-4

By October 3, we’ll be one month into the semester -– time for a 24-hour break!

So we’re heading out to Harvest House in Buffalo (about an hour away) for fun, games, good food, singing, conversation, and lots of laughter. This will be a great time to really get to know each other better – please join us!

When we’re leaving: Friday, October 3, at 5:00 p.m.
When we’re getting back to campus: Saturday, October 4, late afternoon

Cost: $10 per person

Opening worship service Sunday Sept 7, 5:00 p.m.

PCC’s opening worship service of the semester will be this Sunday, Sept 7, at 5:00 p.m. in the Interfaith Chapel on the River Campus. The service will include hymns, communion, a sermon, and a special prayers for the new academic year.

The service will be followed by light refreshments in the narthex, as we all greet old friends and meet new ones.
